We sometimes take photographs and video at the academy to celebrate our members and promote our classes. This policy explains how we use that media and how you control whether you, or your child, appear in it. Photography consent is always your choice.
Photography consent is optional. You can join and train fully whether or not you agree to appear in photos or video. You can change your choice at any time by emailing help@brazillianjiujitsu.com.
How we use photos and video
- On our website and booking app.
- On our social media, such as Instagram and Facebook.
- In posters, flyers and other promotional material.
- To celebrate gradings, competitions and academy events.
Your choice
When you join or book a trial, you can choose whether to opt in to photography and media. If you do not opt in, we will take care not to use identifiable images of you. For members under 18, the decision rests entirely with the parent or guardian.
Protecting children
We follow NSPCC Child Protection in Sport guidance on the use of children's images. We will not publish a child's full name alongside their photograph, and we never share personal contact details. We only use images of children where a parent or guardian has opted in.
Personal photography by members
- Please ask before photographing or filming other members, especially children.
- Do not share images of other people's children online without their parent's permission.
- Coaches may ask you to stop or delete media where there is a safeguarding concern.
Withdrawing consent
You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us. We will stop using new images straight away and will remove existing images from our own channels where it is reasonable to do so. This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
Review and contact
This policy is reviewed regularly and whenever guidance changes. This policy was last reviewed on 4 June 2026. We welcome questions and feedback at any time.
