Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Judo and wrestling are physical contact sports. This waiver explains the risks involved and the terms you agree to before taking part in any class, trial or event at ZR Team Northampton. You confirm you have read and accepted it when you join or book a trial.
For anyone under 18, a parent or guardian must read and accept this waiver on the child's behalf.
Assumption of risk
I understand that grappling and martial arts training involves close physical contact and carries inherent risks, including the risk of injury. I take part voluntarily and accept these risks.
- Training includes sparring, drilling and the application of controlled techniques.
- Injuries, although uncommon when training sensibly, can happen.
- I will train within my ability and follow my coach's instructions at all times.
Health and fitness declaration
I confirm that I am physically able to take part in training. I will tell my coach about any injury, illness or medical condition that may affect my participation, and I will not train if I am unwell or carrying an infection.
Release of liability
To the extent permitted by law, I release ZR Team Northampton, its instructors and the venue from liability for any injury, loss or damage arising from my participation, except where it is caused by their negligence. Nothing in this waiver limits any liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Insurance and supervision
ZR Team Northampton is fully insured and our classes are supervised by qualified coaches. This waiver works alongside our Health and Safety Policy and Terms and Conditions.
Parental consent for under-18s
Where the participant is under 18, the parent or guardian confirms they have authority to give consent, accept this waiver on the child's behalf and consent to the child taking part in training.
